Somewhere To Lay My Head - Red
Somewhere to Lay My Head
I love the the human form. I love the way it curves and bends. I love the way it moves and can express. I love the endless variety of variations.
I also love textiles for much the same reasons.
In this series I wanted to play with the relationship between bodies and fabrics, their differences and similarities. Smooth bodies rendered in continuous line ink pen painted in water colour on crisp but soft muslin poised on textural textile landscapes of fabric, fur and chunky hand knit swatches. Each half aiding and supporting the expression of the other.
Mix media work shown at the Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center during their show titled Texture! running July 25 - September 30 2018.
Created using watercolor paint and India ink on muslin sewn onto hand knit swatches on fabric wrapped canvas.
